Bolton Access Television is an independent, non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 corporation designated by the Bolton Board of Selectmen as the Access Provider for Comcast Channel 99 and Channel 8. Our mission is to provide non-commercial public, education and government (PEG) programming and related services to residents, schools, businesses and other organizations in Bolton via local access channels. Bolton Access TV is not a town board or committee, though we do work closely with the Selectmen, town boards, and Town Hall staff to fulfill our mission.
Funding for station operations and equipment is provided mainly by Bolton’s Comcast television subscribers via a fee, called Franchise Related Costs, negotiated between the town and Comcast in their 10 year contract. Tax money is not used. Donations, which are tax-exempt, are happily accepted.
We televise live the Selectmen, Advisory Committee, and many other town board and committee meetings. We record and air government meetings, school programming, local church services and other programs of interest to the public. We provide many of these programs via Internet. All of the public meetings we air are available on demand right here on our website – just click the “watch” tab at the top of the page!
Our ability to broadcast more and varied programming is limited only by our ability to attract volunteers to the various aspects of television production. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Bolton Access TV at our studio in the Houghton Building, 697 Main Street, call us at (978) 634-1358, or email us at BoltonAccessTV@comcast.net.
